Focus and Leverage: A “Mentor Re-post”

One of my early mentors in integrating concepts from multiple improvement approaches was Bob Sproull, a leading consultant and author on integrating the Theory of Constraints, Lean, and Six Sigma (check out his latest book on this subject here, and my interview with Bob shortly after the book was released here).

Bob is also a prolific blogger, with nearly 500 posts over the past four years on the subject of integrating multiple improvement methods in his “Focus and Leverage” blog. In one of my favorite posts, he cites a Standish Group study on the inexcusably high failure rates of IT projects. For those who can guess the failure rate correctly (or just dig it out of Bob’s blog post), and email me with the correct figure by September 15, 2014, I’ll contact you with details on how to get a free eBook copy of my latest book, The CIO’s Guide to Breakthrough Project Portfolio Performance: Applying the Best of Critical Chain, Agile, and Lean.
